Short version: Faro does not collect, sell, or share your personal data. There are no ads, no analytics, no tracking, and no user account. What you add to Faro stays on your device, or syncs only through your own private Apple iCloud — which we cannot see.
Faro is a media player for M3U and Xtream Codes playlists that you supply. This policy covers the Faro apps for iPhone, iPad, and Apple TV. Faro is developed and operated by Xavi Blasco, an individual developer based in Spain (the “Developer”, “we”). For the purposes of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), Xavi Blasco is the data controller. Contact: support@faroplayer.app.
Nothing is sent to us. Faro has no servers that receive your data, no analytics or crash-reporting SDKs, and no advertising. We do not build a profile of you and have no account system.
If you are signed in to iCloud, Faro can sync your playlists, favorites, and watch progress across your devices using Apple’s CloudKit in your private iCloud database. This data lives in your personal iCloud account under Apple’s privacy terms; the Developer has no access to it and cannot read it. Sync is a convenience feature tied to your Apple ID — turning off iCloud for Faro keeps everything local.
To play your content, Faro connects directly to the servers named in the playlists and provider details you add — for example, your streaming provider’s server and its electronic program guide (EPG). Faro does not route this traffic through us. What those third parties do with your requests is governed by their own privacy practices, not this policy. The same applies to the channel logos and artwork Faro displays: those images are loaded directly from the addresses contained in your own playlist or provider data.
Some screens can open a link outside Faro — for example a “Watch Trailer” button, when your provider supplies a YouTube trailer id for a title, opens that video in your browser or in the YouTube app. Faro sends nothing about you with that link; once you leave the app you are on that service and its privacy policy applies. Faro embeds no YouTube player and no third-party SDK.
Faro is a general-audience media player and is not directed at children. It supplies no content of its own.
Because the Developer operates no servers and receives no personal data, there is no processing by us that requires a legal basis under Article 6 GDPR, no retention period we control, and no international transfer of your data by us. Your data is kept on your device for as long as you keep it there, and you can delete it at any time (see “Your choices”). Where you enable iCloud, Apple processes that data for you under your own Apple account and Apple’s terms. Faro does no profiling and no automated decision-making.
If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you have the rights to access, correct, erase, restrict, and port your personal data, and to object to its processing. In practice, Faro holds no personal data about you on any server we control — it lives on your device or in your own private iCloud — so you can exercise most of these rights directly: clear your data in Settings, disable iCloud for Faro, or delete the app (see “Your choices” above). You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your data-protection authority — in Spain, the Agencia Española de Protección de Datos (aepd.es).
If this policy changes, we will update the effective date above and post the revised version at this address.
